At that time this place becomes one of the major centres of resistence against the Turks. In 1805 it became the seat of the Serbian Praviteljstvujusci Sovjet (the Assembly) Then, it was burned down again in 1813 and restaured in 1816 with the help of Prince Milos.
On the foundation of this church a new one was rebuilt in 1852. The museum of the First Serbian Uprising has been situated in the old guest house.
