About 15 kinds of bats which are very rare in Europe live in the cave. Because of its beauty and rarity it is under the country`s protection as a natural monument. Ribnica got its name as it is rich with fish (“ riba”) which was main food for the inhabitants of this region for years.
The entrance is in the triangle shape, the height is 12m, width25m, in the level of the river waters. The canyon of the Ribnica makes an oasis of natural beauty in the vicinity of large town populations. This region is attractivefor outings, day trips, fishing ,hiking and climbing and it is at no distance from large towns.
